from witnessing similar scenes in nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I reject his metaphors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is too much life in death here at the ocean’s edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The husky and I run wild in the foamy tide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We roughhouse in the wind and rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m cheering for us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One day we’ll walk into the ocean together<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and return as rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My greatest aspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pity the people<\/p>\n\n\n\n
encased in caskets,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
entombed in mausoleums,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
waiting forever for mudslides<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to wash away graveyards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(This does happen to some Pioneer cemeteries on the Oregon Coast. I’ve seen one in Newport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What a terrible way to live on, trapped on land,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
serenaded for eternity by lawnmowers and leaf blowers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
