Some new form of banality? Can someone\ntranslate this? Can it be translated by anyone with a grain of\nintelligence? \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\nabout the human being who wrote this headline and received a wage for\ndoing so? Who is this person? Are they living the dream?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside\na quarantine facility made by union men decades ago, a writer thinks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\nwant a dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why\naren&#8217;t people writing letters?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\nhope rain lets up so I can keep my play date with my friend the\nchipmunk and listen to some hummingbirds duke it out. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where\nis FDR we we need him? Where is the America of the Marshal Plan, GI\nBill, and Civil Rights Act? Forget the moon landings, however. They\ndid nothing for us. They hit golf balls and planted a flag. Where is\nthe America that busted the trusts?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My\ngod, I just remembered a dream I had last night! I was Walt Whitman\ndoing something. I&#8217;ve never had a dream where I became someone else.\nIt&#8217;s quite strange. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\nlaugh at the notion that high tech will save us. It might if the\ncountry went back to a 90% tax bracket like we used to have and the\npolicy was redistribution of wealth instead of grossly higher\nconcentration as it is now. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nfall began with the election of Ronald Reagan and his campaign to\nruin government and governance. I thought rock bottom of this effort\ncame with the election of George Bush II, but I was wrong, very\nwrong.
