After tens of thousands of words and over\ntwo decades, it was time to retire the subject. Sure, the stories\nkept coming, but I had put my foot down. No more imbibing! \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But today, I fall off the wagon\nbecause&#8230;well&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was sitting at a bar in OTA country\nwatching a golf tournament, drinking a free beer because I had\nanswered the trivia question correctly (William Henry Harrison), and\nalternately talking to an Elvis impersonator I had recently met here,\nabout his 2400-piece collection of Elvis memorabilia he has stashed\nin a cabin up in the woods, when an OTA woman walked inside. She was\nlarge and had pink streaks in her short blonde hair. She wore a\n12-inch Bowie knife in a rhinestone encrusted scabbard. The joint&#8217;s\nhouse service dog ran up to her and gave her a weird sniffing and\ncircling. The woman, as she petted the dog, said, \u201cMust be my pigs.\nI&#8217;m a pig farmer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She played with the dog a bit, then\nwent up to the bar, to my left, a few feet away. She ordered a\nwhiskey and coke in a pint glass, waited for it, paid, then moseyed\nover to the video slots. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I smelled pig as she left. \n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I wasn&#8217;t going to write on Oregon Tavern Age life anymore.
