My mind meanders with rain falling outside. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking of rain, I was watching Doctor\nStrangelove<\/em> the other night for the first time in 30 years and\nwas delighted to learn that the crazy general, Jack Ripper, drank\nonly grain alcohol cut with rainwater. I wish I’d had that line in\nthe rain book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sometimes I think I’m living a country\nWestern song or a blues number, or a curious combination of both. I\nalso think I am writing that song, playing and singing it, too, to an\nunknown audience, or no one at all, or perhaps only the ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is this a way to live? I don’t know.\nIt’s all I have right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am writing this from a dive bar that\nis playing classic country and blues songs. I am sitting next to a\nlaminated front page article from the Oregonian circa 2005, headlined\n\u201cFaces of Meth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rain is picking up. An army of gray has\ninvaded and occupied the landscape. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Near me, an OTA man talks rather loudly\nabout he hated the new Star Trek<\/em> movie reboot. Agreed. Spock\nis not an action hero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHeartbreaker\u201d by Zeppelin come on.\nIt was Sonny the Husky’s favorite song. When it came on and she was\nin the back of the truck, under the canopy, slider window open, she\nwould dance and howl.
