Elbow Patches!

The other day I hunted through a Christian thrift store and found one of my more memorable treasures: Elbow Patches! “Genuine Sueded (sic) Cowhide.” It cost me a quarter.

Look at the groovy line illustration of the man wearing patches on his blazer! Look at the price! Look at the perforations for “easy sewing! These patches scream scholar, writer, beatnik, history teacher, poet, brooding intellectual, revolutionary!

Why can’t we again be a nation of people who sew patches to “add new life and fashion to jackets, sweaters, coats?”

I have just the ancient and fraying Pendleton sweater that is perfect for these patches.

The only problem—I can’t sew! Help me!
