Duct Tape Repairs

Someone hit my passenger-side car mirror and left it somewhat dangling. I duct-taped it together until a proper repair. Now I’m one of those people who drives around with duct tape keeping the vehicle together. You’ve seen those vehicles—windows, windshields, doors, bumpers. I’m only a lowly mirror man, but perhaps this marks the beginning to new dilapidated frontiers of duct tape, jury-rigging repair.

My glasses fell apart a few days ago. I fixed them with duct tape. Now I’m one of those duct-taped glasses wearers. You see them all the time. I can’t afford to have my glasses fixed at this time so I am writing this about duct tape while wearing duct tape.

What’s next? What is there left to duct tape in my life? Am I already wrapped up somewhere and unaware? Can people see it?

So far my colors are gray and green—appropriate for the Oregon Coast. I can’t do orange. Black is a possibility. If only there was corduroy duct tape!
